President
Dr Suzette Stander is as dental specialist in Periodontics, Implantology and Oral Medicine and is in private practice since 2014.

in 2006; and in 2009 she completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Implantology at the University of the Western Cape, Cum Laude.
She is the director of a full-time specialist private practices focusing on Periodontics and Implantology (IMPLANT PERIO INC.) in George since 2018 and part time practice in Port Elisabeth, since 2014, and Bloemfontein, since 2021.
From 2014 she has been actively involved in the dental specialist society, the South African Society of Periodontics, Implantology and Oral Medicine (SASPIO). SASPIO is a branch of the South African Dental Association (SADA). She has served on the SASPIO EXCO from 2016 and was elected as Vice-President for the term 2016 – 2018; elected as President of SASPIO for terms 2018 – 2020; Immediate Past President for the term 2021– 2022; and again, elected as President for the term 2023 – 2024 and now recently re-elected as President for the new term 2025 – 2026.
In the March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, as the President of SASPIO and a member of the SADA Extended Dental Practice Committee (eDPCOM), she was actively involved in compiling and approving the SADA DENTAL CLINICAL PROTOCOLS in response to COVID-19 Pandemic in South Africa.
She has extensive teaching and learning experience of undergraduate and postgraduate students in an academic and private postgraduate training environment.
Since 2018 until currently, she has been actively involved as a Proctor at the IAA in the teaching and learning of postgraduate dental students in implantology, in the private sector. The IAA is a private postgraduate training facility in South Africa currently providing a complete postgraduate training program in Implantology, under the leadership of Prof Howard Gluckman.
From 2021 until 2023 she has been employed as a Part Time Cinical Consultant and Lecturer in the Department of Periodontology at the Dental Faculty of the University of the Western Cape lecturing and teaching post graduate students training in Periodontology. She has been actively involved lecturing and leading hands-on sessions in the two-year Postgraduate Diploma in Implantology presented by the Periodontal Department of the Dental Faculty of the University of the Western Cape, from 2021 until 2023.
Over the years the presented several lectures at the Annual Meeting for the Eastern Cape Branch of OHASA in 2014, 2015 and 2017. She lectured at various SADA branch meetings including Southern Cape Branch in 2015 and 2023, as well as the Border Kei Branch in 2015, 2016 and 2018. She chaired sessions at the International Team of Implantology (ITI) annual meeting of 2022 in Melrose Arch, Johannesburg, South Africa; SADA annual meeting in Cape Town at the International Convention Centre in 2023 and SADA annual meeting in Pretoria at the Sun Arena in 2024.
She is a member of the ITI (International Team of Implantology) and in 2025 been elected as the study club director of the ITI Garden Rout Study Club.
She as a passion for her profession and loves in her spare time to travel, kayak and snorkel.
Dr. Feheem Bhamjee
Vice President
Dr Feheem Bhamjee is a registered specialist in Oral Medicine and Periodontology having completed his MCHD in December 2017. Dr Bhamjee is a founder and co-director of Matrix Dental Specialists, a unique specialist dental practice offering a wide range of dental treatments of the highest international standards.
Dr Bhamjee received his dental degree in 2007, from the Universities of Stellenbosch and the Western Cape, achieving three consecutive nominations and awards from the prestigious Golden Key society. After completing his community service year in the rural North West province, he entered as an associate in private practices around Johannesburg and Sandton.
Dr Bhamjee received a postgraduate diploma in oral implantology in 2009, completed the MFOS colleges of medicine primary examinations in 2010 and another postgraduate diploma in oral surgery with the University of Pretoria in 2011. From 2014 to 2017 he completed his full time masters degree in Oral medicine and Periodontology. He then went on to Brazil and Portugal for advanced training in immediate dental implant rehabilitation techniques. In 2020 he completed a Master Course in Regenerative and Plastic-Esthetic Periodontal Surgery with the University of Bern.
Dr Bhamjee served as a clinical consultant at the University of the Western Cape from 2018 until 2023 and currently serves as vice president of the South African Society of Periodontology, Implantology and Oral medicine ( SASPIO)

He is involved with teaching, research and clinical training of undergraduate and postgraduate’s students at the University of the Witwatersrand. He occupies a full-time position as Head Clinical Unit (HCU)in the department of Oral Medicine and Periodontology, school of Oral Health Sciences-Wits. He held the position of SASPIO Secretary 2023-2024 and is currently the treasurer 2024-2025.

Dr. Rhonin R. Naidoo

Dr Naidoo obtained his BDS degree from the University of the Witwatersrand (1989). He obtained postgraduate qualifications from the University of Pretoria in the fields of Periodontics & Oral Medicine (1996 & 1997). He completed his specialty training in Oral Medicine & Periodontology at Wits (2001).
He has presented lectures at several dental and medical study groups and congresses over the He is a twice past-President the SADA – KZN branch and current National Councillor of SADA KZN branch. He is the immediate past President of the national SADA He is a member of the South African Society for Periodontology. Dr Naidoo is in specialist Periodontics & Oral Medicine and practices in Durban.
